Computational Design in Blender – Melting Curves

By Alessandro Zomparelli

Melting geometries in Blender.
Usually in generative design point, curves or other objects can be fused together using voxelization strategies. Since in Blender there is not yet a dedicated tool for voxelization and iso-surfacing I decided to use Fluid simulation and literally melt the geometries together.
Thanks to “marching cubes” algorithm, that allow the surface creation, the output is most of the time ready for 3D printing production, because there are no “Non Manifolds”.
