In this Blender tutorial I show how texture painting with layers. In the example of the bricks material I overlay the first principled shader with a relfective water shader (also principled bsdf) and use a mix shader with a black mask to combine them. Then the water appears at the areas where I paint with a white tone onto the mask. As in every #PBR workflow I use the albedo (base color), roughness and normal nodes for the shaders.
